Fun Book!
This book has an interesting take on scary stories because it
gives a sense of truth to them as there is a "truth scale' for each
tale. The author has an engaging writing style too. Highly recommended!

captivates readers with unexpected twists. The beautifully illustrated
book is both entertaining and adventurous, featuring vivid photographs.
It's thought-provoking, easy to follow, and engaging, making it an
excellent gift. The stories are educational, with a touch of mystery and
ominousness. I like that truth was integrated into the stories.

Great read and based on truth!
Great read, and I especially love that these stories and strange encounters are actually based on real events and real happenings observed by people. Must pay a visit to the Isle of Skye soon! (or not lol) :) Would recommend the read!

It isn't about "spooky", some stories are more about adventures. I liked them and it made me imagine each scene, and made me day dream of this part of Scotland with the greenery, sheep, rain, streams, hills... i am sure my kids would love it!The meter of truth at the beginning is a nice touch, it made me less interested in story no 5 though.

A Delightfully Eerie Adventure for Young Readers!

Brown is a captivating collection of unusual and spine-tingling stories that will thrill young readers.This book is a true gem, featuring five distinct stories that are both spooky and imaginative. Four of these tales are inspired by real incidents on the Isle of Skye, Scotland, which adds an authentic and chilling layer to the narratives. These stories involve mysterious encounters with 'Little People,' the discovery of an ancient souterrain, a spine-tingling premonition, and an investigation into a Fairy Hill tumulus. The author has masterfully blended fact and fiction, creating a world where the supernatural meets reality.
I liked the author's truth meter for each of the 5 short stories. The stories are more mildly interesting than scary, however I am not their intended audience, and I do think they will invoke a "what if?" with a shiver from kids third through sixth grade.
This is a really neat book that gives a percentage of truth for each story — I loved the Strange Happenings on the Fairy Hill story written from a minister's journal over a century ago!!
Scary Stories for Kids is a collection of five stories that the author has some connection to. The book includes a ‘truth scale’ so the reader knows what percentage of the story is true and what percentage is fictionalized. I didn’t find the stories particularly scary; more thought-provoking and adventurous. It is a good read.
